The Bolesławiec District Prosecutor’s Office conducted proceedings against Wojciech M., who was suspected of abusing the trust placed in him by a minor — arising from the fact that he was the minor’s football coach and a specialist in the field of football — by inviting the injured party to his home and then causing him to submit to other sexual acts. (An offence under Article 199 § 3 of the Penal Code). He was also suspected of giving alcohol to the minor, repeatedly encouraging him to consume it (Article 208 of the Penal Code).
On 27 February 2025, the Bolesławiec District Court delivered its judgment. It found the defendant guilty of the acts charged and imposed an aggregate sentence of 10 months’ imprisonment, conditionally suspended for a probation period of 3 years.
The Court also imposed a 3-year ban on contacting or approaching the injured party, as well as a 3-year ban on holding any positions, practicing any professions or conducting any activities involving the upbringing or education of minors or caring for them.
The judgment is not final, which means that the defendant may appeal it by filing an appeal with the Jelenia Góra Regional Court.
