The timetable adjustment will be in effect from March 9 to June 14 this year. PLK SA, together with the carriers, has arranged the connections in a way that makes the best use of the railway lines’ capacity while providing contractors with conditions to continue their work. The timetable change also makes it possible to operate passenger services, transport goods and carry out investment and maintenance work on the railway, improving travel comfort, accessibility and safety.

Shorter journeys – the effects of work on railway lines

From March 9, the journey from Warsaw to Rzeszów will be about 19 minutes shorter. The PKP Intercity train (IC San), running via Radom and Sandomierz, will cover the route in a record time of 3 hours 47 minutes. This is partly the result of the completion of another stage of the modernization of railway line no. 25 (on the Dwikozy–Sandomierz section) and the increase in train speeds.

In spring, PKP Intercity trains will run faster than they do now, saving passengers several more minutes. From April 8, travelers will reach Wrocław from Warszawa Centralna aboard a Pendolino in 3 hours 29 minutes. The journey from Kłodzko to Kudowa-Zdrój will be about 5 minutes shorter.

New stops on Poland’s railway map

From March 9, the new Biała Podlaska Wschodnia stop will provide better access to the railway. A pedestrian underpass will provide safe access to the two platforms. In Łódź Voivodeship, Łódzka Kolej Aglomeracyjna and Polregio trains will stop at the new Izabelów stop on the Zduńska Wola–Sieradz route. In Silesia, passengers will be able to use a new facility—Bytom Stroszek—on the Chorzów Batory–Tarnowskie Góry line.

Continuation of work on the railway network

The timetable adjustment allows passengers to benefit from the results of the work and carriers to tailor the best possible offer for travelers. Railway investments and maintenance works are continuing, requiring changes to the timetable.

The next stage of work on the Katowice railway junction involves closing the Katowice Brynów stop.

A new pedestrian underpass is being built at Warszawa Gdańska station. From March 9, passengers will not use platform 4 or part of platform 5. Instead, trains will stop at platforms 2 and 3.
