Mayor Piotr Roman during Wednesday’s meeting of the Bolesławiec City Council:

I want to tell you that recently I asked the president, Grzegorz Kozłowski (PWIK – editor’s note: istotne.pl), to try to calculate the number of residents based on water consumption data. We took into account the average water consumption in Lower Silesia and compared it with annual water consumption.

The mayor added that this was a simplified calculation, according to which there are 38,400 residents in Bolesławiec. He compared this with the number of people paying for waste collection:

As I told you, more than 32,000 people are registered in the system. So we can certainly say that approximately 6,000 people do not pay for waste.
