The incident occurred on 17 February. As reported by firefighters from Środa Śląska:
(...) at 10:17 a.m., the Duty Officer of the Command and Dispatch Station received a report of a fire involving a truck with a trailer at kilometre 129 of the A4 motorway, heading towards Legnica. When the first JOP units arrived at the scene, it turned out that two vehicle combinations carrying wooden boards and rubber materials were on fire.
Two people were injured and taken to hospital. The firefighters said: – Traffic on the motorway towards Legnica is currently blocked, while towards Wrocław it is moving along one lane. At this point, the firefighters' operations involve extinguishing the remaining flames in the wrecks and the materials stored on the trailers.
Police are determining the causes and circumstances of the incident.
