District officers from the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters, as part of operations aimed at combating drug addiction, stopped a resident of Warta Bolesławiecka Municipality for a traffic check. Senior Asp. Łukasz Porębski from the Provincial Police Headquarters: – Surprised by this turn of events, the 30-year-old driver clammed up, as the saying goes, when questioned by the officers. He thought that the official activities undertaken by the officers would soon come to an end. However, nothing could be further from the truth.

During the check, the officers found a decorative gift bag beneath the driver's seat. It contained two plastic containers and a chewing-gum package. Inside them, respectively, were more than half a kilogram of methamphetamine and marijuana.

On this basis, the 30-year-old was detained and taken to the police unit to carry out procedural activities. The police established that the seized methamphetamine could yield nearly 5,000 retail doses.

The 30-year-old was charged. At the prosecutor's request, the court ordered the resident of Warta Bolesławiecka Municipality to be held in pre-trial detention for three months. The man now faces up to 10 years in prison.
