– During the investigation, it was established that on 23 January 2025, two men rang the intercom of one of the apartments. During the conversation, they allegedly threatened the person they spoke to with death – reports Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra. – The perpetrators then entered the stairwell, knocked on the door of one of the apartments and asked the person living there about the owner of the apartment they had previously called via the intercom. That person turned out to be a journalist for one of Bolesławiec’s online news portals. After the conversation ended, they left the stairwell and departed from the scene.

She adds: – As part of the investigation, surveillance footage from the stairwell was secured. During subsequent procedural and evidentiary activities, it made it possible to identify the two men. They turned out to be twenty-five-year-old Arkadiusz Z. and fifty-two-year-old Piotr S.

The men were charged with making a criminal threat—threatening to take someone’s life. This type of offence carries a sentence of up to two years in prison.

The prosecutor’s office placed the suspects under police supervision and imposed a ban on approaching or contacting the injured party.

Spokesperson:

One of the suspects admitted to committing the alleged offence. Both gave statements describing the course of the incident and their motive.

She concludes:

It should be noted that on 24 January 2025, one of Bolesławiec’s online news portals published an article titled “Dangerous men prowling around Jana Pawła II Street in Bolesławiec,” which described the course of the incident. The factual findings indicate that this was an isolated incident directed at a specific person. The evidence ruled out the possibility that these individuals had engaged in similar conduct towards other residents of the estate on Jana Pawła II Street.
