Officers of the Customs and Tax Service and police officers from the Drug Crime Team of the Criminal Division received information that illegal tobacco products might be stored on a property near Lubań. The services searched a residential building and an outbuilding.
The result? – Officers discovered 197 Indian hemp plants in the attic of the building. The place where the cannabis plantation was located had been adapted for cultivation and equipped with lighting, heating and ventilation systems – reports Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek, press spokesperson for the Lower Silesian KAS.
She adds: – In the other rooms of the building, officers found 27,000 doses of marijuana and more than 7 kg of tobacco without Polish excise stamps. The officers were assisted by a German shepherd, a Customs and Tax Service dog trained to detect tobacco.
The value of the seized drugs and tobacco exceeds PLN 34,000.
Charges brought against a 77-year-old woman

The 77-year-old woman staying in the residential building admitted to illegal cultivation and possession of drugs and tobacco. At the request of the Police and the Prosecutor's Office, the court ordered that the woman be held in temporary custody for three months. She faces up to 20 years in prison for cultivating marijuana and possessing a significant quantity of drugs.
The police are carrying out further activities.
