Some councillors accused Nowogrodziec Mayor Joanna Świder of having unlawfully “dismissed a pregnant woman” last autumn. The case concerns the director of the Nowogrodziec SP ZOZ.

The head of the municipality addressed the matter during a session of the Nowogrodziec Municipal Council:

I will disclose to you an excerpt from a letter from the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau, but I will not disclose the entire letter—for the sake of respect for the personal data and the people mentioned in its contents. But perhaps you will understand what was the reason that the director of the SP ZOZ was dismissed. I will read you just one paragraph:

“Violation of the above prohibitions by the person referred to in Article 2 point 6 of the Act constitutes, pursuant to Article 5 paragraph 2, grounds for dismissal from office by the competent authority or termination of the employment contract no later than one month after the date on which the authority obtained information about the reason for the dismissal or termination of the employment contract.”

The head of the municipality added that these actions “were dictated, in fact, by an order from the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau.” She concluded: – So I think there is no discussion at all here about the reasons why the director was dismissed.
