The incident occurred on January 11, 2025, at approximately 8:10 p.m., on Wolności Street in Jelenia Góra. Officers:
Officers from the Jelenia Góra traffic police, while travelling to a reported road incident, noticed the driver of a BMW performing extremely dangerous manoeuvres. The man was drifting and changing lanes abruptly, using the entire width of the road and paying no attention to other road users. The road conditions were exceptionally difficult—falling snow, a slippery surface and limited visibility significantly increased the risk of a collision or accident.
The police immediately intervened and stopped the driver for a roadside inspection. The police headquarters:
It turned out that the vehicle was being driven by a 28-year-old resident of the region who works professionally as a driver. Despite his experience in driving vehicles, the man demonstrated extreme irresponsibility, disregarding both traffic regulations and the safety of other road users.
And he adds: – For his conduct, the driver was fined 6,000 zlotys and received 24 penalty points. This number of points means that the permitted limit was immediately exceeded and results in the loss of his entitlement to drive vehicles.
The police remind drivers:
Difficult weather conditions require drivers to exercise particular caution and prudence. Drifting, sudden manoeuvres or reckless driving on a slippery surface can lead to tragic incidents. In such conditions, even the smallest mistake can cost lives—not only that of the driver, but also of other road users, including pedestrians.
