As reported by Bolesławiec City Hall, in the City of Ceramics, more boys than girls were born again in 2024:
The most popular names were Julia and Filip.
Last year, the Civil Registry Office in Bolesławiec drew up 495 birth certificates (the same number as the previous year), including 118 registrations concerning children born abroad.
Other popular names chosen by parents for girls included Maja, Amelia, Zuzanna and Iga. Among boys’ names, Ignacy, Marceli, Mikołaj, Antoni, Franciszek and Nikodem were also popular.
Office:
Last year, 72 birth certificates were drawn up for children of foreign nationals, most of them for children of Ukrainian citizens – 65.
What about marriages?
The number of marriages contracted fell slightly. City Hall: – In 2024, the local office drew up 235 certificates (19 fewer than in 2023), including 56 marriages contracted outside our country. A civil ceremony was held by 121 couples (including 4 couples who chose an outdoor wedding ceremony), while 58 couples had a church wedding. Traditionally, most wedding ceremonies took place during the summer months, from June to September.
It is also worth noting that, in the year mentioned, the Bolesławiec Civil Registry Office organized ceremonies to present the “Medals for Long Marital Life” to 13 couples.

The office adds: – The number of divorces rose again, reaching 121 (6 more than the previous year).
More deaths
City Hall officials summarize: – Unfortunately, the number of death certificates drawn up continues to rise. In 2024, 699 were registered (16 more deaths than in 2023), including 30 people who died outside Poland.
