During the traffic stop, police officers detected a strong smell of alcohol coming from the man. The spokesperson said: – A breathalyser test showed that the driver had more than 3‰ of alcohol in his system. Due to the serious violation of regulations, his driving licence was immediately confiscated, and his vehicle was towed to a police car park.
She also adds:
Fortunately, thanks to the police officers’ swift intervention, no tragedy occurred on the road. Driving while intoxicated is one of the most serious threats to road safety.
The 43-year-old will now face court. Driving a vehicle while intoxicated is punishable by a heavy fine, restriction of liberty or imprisonment for up to 3 years, as well as a driving ban.
