The incident occurred today, at approximately 3:30 a.m., at the intersection of Żołnierzy II Armii Wojska Polskiego Street and al. Rzeczypospolitej in Legnica. – The driver of an Audi, entering the intersection at high speed, lost control of the vehicle, drove onto the median strip and damaged road signs and a traffic signal – reports Commissioner Jagoda Ekiert, press officer for the Legnica Municipal Police Headquarters.

As a result of the violent impact with the signs, the car came to a stop, and the vehicle was seriously damaged. Fortunately, despite the extensive damage, the man did not suffer serious injuries.
It turned out that the driver was completely drunk, with more than 2 promille of alcohol in his exhaled breath. The spokeswoman said: – The man will answer for his actions in court. Driving while intoxicated is punishable by up to 3 years in prison, a driving ban and a heavy fine.
She concludes: – We are publishing footage from the city surveillance camera as a warning, to alert all road users to the consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol.
