A parent called the editorial office, concerned about information allegedly being spread by people at Orka. It was said that, in November 2024, first-graders would not be able to continue their swimming lessons. These rumors reached teachers, who were then reportedly expected to pass them on to parents.
We asked the City Hall to verify this information. Spokesperson Agnieszka Gergont replied to the inquiry submitted on behalf of residents only after two follow-ups and, ultimately, 26 days later.
First-grade classes will continue their swimming lessons until June 2025—as part of the entire 2024/25 school year (PLN 280,000 has been secured for the period from January to June 2025).
The decision on implementing school preventive programs, including swimming, for second- and third-grade classes in the 2025/26 school year will be made by school principals when preparing the schools’ work plans.
