Following written information from a group of teachers and the Parents’ Council at the Jan Paul II Primary School in Gościszów, the Education Superintendent’s Office conducted a two-day ad hoc inspection at the school in October.

In an article published by us on October 12, Political war within the school walls? Parents and teachers versus the school principal Aneta Polak assured readers that the school was functioning very well and that the inspection by the superintendent’s office, which was taking place at the institution, would turn out favorably for her. Moreover, Aneta Polak expressed certainty that the mayor of Nowogrodziec would not dismiss her and that the whole matter would gradually die down.
It is therefore unclear why Aneta Polak did not receive the inspectors from the superintendent’s office.

“It was not possible to inspect the institution on November 22, November 29, or December 3,” says Miłosława Bożek, spokesperson for the Wrocław Education Superintendent’s Office. “Appropriate steps were taken, but for various reasons the inspectors were unable to inspect the institution. Let us hope that tomorrow (December 5 – ed.), the fourth attempt will produce results and the follow-up inspection will take place—that is, verification of whether the recommendations issued after the first inspection have been implemented,” Bożek adds.

The press spokesperson does not hide the fact that this situation is unprecedented.

“We made three attempts to conduct a follow-up inspection,” says Bożek. “All of them were unsuccessful. Have we encountered situations like this before? I cannot confirm that; I do not know all the cases. But it is indeed a precedent, because we have no legal provisions defining the procedures to follow when we are unable to conduct an inspection. We have such provisions only for non-public institutions; they do not apply to public institutions. Let us hope that the follow-up inspection takes place tomorrow (December 5 – ed.), and then I will be able to provide its results,” says Miłosława Bożek.

We will ask the Nowogrodziec Municipal and City Office about this situation.
