The incident took place on Friday, February 4, in Gościszów (Nowogrodziec municipality). Around 11:00 a.m., straw caught fire in one of the local farm buildings. The fire was probably caused by a short circuit in the electrical installation.
Nine fire service units took part in the firefighting operation, including four from the KP PSP in Bolesławiec. The barn burned down completely. Woodworking machinery, a grass-mowing tractor and a military UAZ were destroyed. Fortunately, no one was injured.
The operation lasted approximately four hours. Gusty winds hampered it.
