Officers from the Economic Crime Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra on 2 December charged a 43-year-old resident of Bolesławiec with fraud. – As the officers established, while working at one of the building-supply stores in Jelenia Góra, the woman acted to its detriment for almost a year in order to gain financial benefits – explains sub-inspector Edyta Bagrowska, press officer of the Jelenia Góra Municipal Police Headquarters.
She adds:
In 2022–2023, her actions caused losses of nearly PLN 62,000. The illegal practice involved the 43-year-old entering fictitious product returns into the fiscal system and then taking money from the cash register, thereby exposing the store where she worked to losses.
She also adds: – Yesterday, the woman was charged in the case. She will now stand trial for the offence of which she is suspected, and could face up to 8 years in prison.
