As reported by the Wrocław branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways:
Work is under way to expand the transport system across the Bóbr River in Bolesławiec along national road No. 94. A new northern bridge will be built there, followed by the reconstruction of the existing structure. In practice, the old structure will be demolished and a completely new one will be built in its place.
How did the flood affect the work?
Road manager: – During this year's flood wave, the work had to be temporarily suspended due to the very high water level in the Bóbr River. The existing structure was closed for several days. When the water receded, we inspected the technical condition of the structure and the construction site. The work resumed.
What has been completed, what work is currently under way, and what will the next stage be?
- The contractor has already completed part of the work on the construction of the new northern bridge.
- Two shafts of the intermediate supports, that is, the piers of the new structure, have been concreted.
- Work is under way on the temporary access road on the right bank of the Bóbr River.
- The next stage will be the reconstruction of the embankment on the side of the existing roundabout.
When will the work be completed?
The contractual completion date is the fourth quarter of 2026.
