Residents’ vigilance and cooperation with the local Police led to the recovery of a vehicle worth more than PLN 150,000 that had been stolen abroad. The Audi passenger car, bearing German registration plates, was parked on one of the streets in a locality in the Osiecznica municipality and left for an extended period with its engine running.
The information passed on to the uniformed officers was quickly verified by officers from Nowogrodziec. After checking the car in police systems, the patrol confirmed that it was connected with a crime. It had been stolen.
The German Police, located more than 600 km from Bolesławiec, had registered the vehicle’s theft several hours before it was secured by officers from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec.
The recovered vehicle will be returned to its owner. Officers are determining the circumstances in which the stolen car was left.
