Officers from Lubań were conducting intensive activities in a case involving a break-in and theft from a garage. According to the report, the perpetrators stole an MBK motorcycle and various items of property. In the course of the investigation, the total value of the stolen property was estimated at PLN 8,280.
During their investigation, detectives identified the suspects in the case. The first, a 36-year-old man, was arrested in Olszyna. During a search of the residential premises, officers found a plastic bag containing dried plant material. Testing showed that the substance was marijuana, amounting to 88 doses. In addition, a check of police databases confirmed that the suspect had been wanted for some time to serve a 60-day prison sentence.
Further activities at the scene led to the recovery of the stolen items, including a gas cylinder with a heater, fishing equipment and a petrol-powered brushcutter.
While the officers were carrying out their duties, a vehicle arrived at the property. According to the officers' information, it was being driven by the other man suspected in the case. When he saw the police, the driver suddenly pulled away and then tried to run over the intervening officers. However, all the man's efforts to avoid responsibility for his actions came to nothing. Later that same day, after forcing their way into a residential building in Olszyna, criminal police officers arrested the 40-year-old man. During the operation, officers also recovered the stolen motorcycle. The suspect was tested for the presence of drugs in his system. The test was positive. In accordance with the applicable procedure, blood was drawn from the man for further verification.
The 36- and 40-year-old perpetrators were brought before the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Lubań. The suspects were charged with burglary and theft; the 36-year-old was additionally charged with possession of narcotic substances, while the other was charged with an active assault on a police officer.
They face up to 10 years in prison for the crimes committed.
