As reported by OSP Czerna:
On November 19, 2024, our firefighter Tomasz Majowski was presented with the Saint Florian Badge “For Merits to the Local Community” by the Lower Silesian Provincial Commander of the State Fire Service, Brigadier General Marek Hajduk.
Profile of the Honoree
Firefighters:
Tomek completed rank-and-file firefighter training in 1998. From that moment on, he was able to participate in rescue operations, which he continues to attend to this day. He took part in various types of training: for commanders, respiratory protection, technical rescue, equipment driver-maintainers, unit commanders, cooperation with the Polish Medical Air Rescue service, and qualified first aid.
For 10 years, Tomek was the coordinator of the Youth Fire Service at our unit. Thanks to his skills, he served as equipment maintainer for 10 years. Due to his knowledge and ability to make quick decisions, he earned recognition and respect among the local community as well as within the firefighting community.
Since 2011, he has been a member of the OSP Management Board, where he serves as Vice-President and Commander.
In 2017, he was awarded a silver medal for merits in firefighting.
One particularly significant date in Tomasz’s biography will surely be April 9, 2021, when he noticed a man lying on the ground. Thanks to the knowledge he had gained in qualified first-aid training, he immediately began resuscitation. His dedication was rewarded on August 17, 2021, when the man he had saved came to visit him and thank him.
Wodzu—keep it up!!!
