The incident occurred last Sunday, after 10:00 p.m., on Kolejowa Street in Przemków. – Police patrols, an ambulance and the fire service were immediately dispatched to the scene – reports Sub-Inspector Przemysław Rybikowski, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Polkowice.
He adds: – According to the preliminary findings of the police, a 36-year-old Volkswagen driver who was driving correctly hit a pedestrian walking on the roadway. Despite the efforts of rescuers and doctors, the 30-year-old pedestrian died.
He further explains:
For several hours, officers carried out activities with the participation of a road-traffic expert. Police are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the accident, but even now the preliminary findings show that the incident would not have occurred at all if the pedestrian had used the sidewalk instead of walking on the roadway.

Police are appealing, for good reason, for compliance with traffic regulations, common sense and the use of reflective elements by pedestrians. All this is intended to prevent fatal accidents such as the one described above.
