Over the weekend, in the middle of the night, a traffic collision occurred in one of the localities in Nowogrodziec Municipality. – The perpetrator wanted to flee the scene on foot – reports asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. – A resident of Bolesławiec County who was not involved in the incident reacted and prevented the driver from leaving. A patrol from the Police Station in Nowogrodziec, called to the scene, apprehended the perpetrator of the collision.
The 34-year-old from Nowogrodziec Municipality was intoxicated, with more than 2 promille of alcohol in his system. In addition, he was subject to a court-ordered driving ban issued by the District Court in Jelenia Góra.
The spokesperson: – The suspect will be held responsible for causing a traffic collision, driving while intoxicated and violating the court-ordered driving ban. He faces up to 5 years in prison. The road offender’s vehicle was secured against future penalties.
