The incident occurred during the night of November 1–2, 2024. – We would like to inform you that, as soon as Lubań police officers received information from the injured person about the road incident in question, they began activities aimed at identifying the perpetrator – emphasizes asp. szt. Justyna Bujakiewicz-Rodzeń, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Lubań.
She adds:
Officers established that the scene was not covered by surveillance, so they went to nearby buildings, where they found cameras that might have recorded the incident. We remind you that the incident occurred at approximately 11:40 p.m.; however, the officers tried to contact residents in order to secure recordings from surveillance cameras. Due to the very late hour, they were unable to contact the people who had the recording directly. The duty officer at the Lubań unit was informed of this fact and contacted the property owners by telephone. They provided information about securing the surveillance recording. At the same time, thanks to footage from a camera located at one of the petrol stations, the officers identified a person who might have been driving a vehicle that could have been involved in the incident. The person was questioned the very next day.
And adds:
The activities aimed at identifying the perpetrator of the road incident began immediately after information about its occurrence was received and continued thereafter. On November 2, 2024 (Saturday), the officers secured surveillance recordings and questioned owners of car repair shops providing bodywork and paint services, thereby determining whether combi-type vehicles had been repaired during the specified period.
On November 6, the injured person appeared at the headquarters, where they spoke with female officers from the Criminal Department, who informed them about the activities being carried out in this case.

We are asking you for help in identifying the perpetrator of the road incident involving a pedestrian that occurred during the night of November 1–2 this year. The incident took place in Lubań, on Cmentarna Street, at approximately 11:40 p.m. During the incident, the driver, probably of a dark-colored combi-type vehicle, hit a man and fled the scene. Anyone who witnessed this accident is asked to contact officers of the District Police Headquarters in Lubań at 47 873 42 00 or 47 873 42 20. We are publishing a photo of the vehicle whose driver may have been involved in this road incident.
