She called us a Reader, drawing our attention to the issue of cars on Ślusarska Street. As she said, cars regularly park there on the pavements. The result is that pedestrians have no way to get through, while residents of the building at al. Wojska Polskiego have nowhere to park their vehicles.

The reader informed us that she had reported the matter to the police, the municipal police and the municipal authorities. They had all allegedly shifted responsibility onto someone else.

The Bolesławiec resident wants to know what the authorities intend to do about it.

Importantly, last year we reported that Bolesławiec County Head Tomasz Gabrysiak announced at a session in September last year that there would be additional parking lots on Ślusarska Street and an application to develop the entire road strip along the street.

We asked the County Office about the matter. Emilia Michałowska from the Press Office of the Bolesławiec County Office:

Thank you for your inquiry regarding plans to build new parking lots on Ślusarska Street in Bolesławiec. I would like to inform you that the construction of new parking lots is included in the County Office’s plans; unfortunately, however, it is not included in the budget in the near future due to the lack of government co-financing programs.

She added:

I would also like to point out that, pursuant to Article 47 of the Road Traffic Act, the existing pavement on Ślusarska Street cannot be used as a car park because of its specified width. Verifying compliance with the regulations and, consequently, ensuring pedestrian safety and proper traffic flow are the responsibilities of the Municipal Police and the Police.
