On Saturday evening, the duty officer at the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec received a report that a 77-year-old city resident was missing. – Information provided by the family indicated that the senior had left home in the afternoon, while his wife was away, and had not returned by 9 p.m. – reports asp. szt. Monika Kaleta from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – His loved ones initially searched on their own; when this produced no results, they notified the services.
An alarm was raised at the Bolesławiec police unit because the senior’s life could have been at risk. The spokesperson: – The first checks concerned Bolesławiec hospitals; railway stations and bus stops were checked. At the same time, officers began searching the area around his home, cellars, parks and the area around a pond. Other officers went to the allotment gardens because the missing man owned a plot there, which he often visited with his wife. Unfortunately, he was not there either, so the officers began checking the neighboring plots.
At around 1 a.m., the police officers heard a man’s voice coming from nearby bushes. When they approached the thicket, they saw the frightened 77-year-old. Fortunately, nothing had happened to the senior, and he was able to return home safely.
