Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters:

The past three days in Bolesławiec County saw intensified police operations, resulting in 20 people being detained in connection with various cases, including a man wanted by warrant and suspected of an economic crime, 5 people with drugs and 8 traffic offenders.

Friday

  • Police detained a 42-year-old man who was driving a car with more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his system and despite a court-imposed driving ban.
  • Criminal investigators detained two residents of Zgorzelec County who had drugs.
  • Another patrol detained a 33-year-old man who was driving a vehicle despite the District Court in Zielona Góra having imposed a ban on him driving and the Bolesławiec County Starost having issued a decision withdrawing his driving authorisation.
  • In three different locations across the county, officers detained 3 intoxicated cyclists. The police said: – The men were riding bicycles with between 1.5 and 2 per mille of alcohol in their systems.
  • Three wanted people were detained, including a 51-year-old man for whom a warrant had been issued. (The Bolesławiec resident was sentenced to 2 years and 8 months in prison because he has a sentence to serve for driving while intoxicated, violating a court-imposed ban and disregarding a decision withdrawing his driving authorisation.)

Saturday

  • At night in Gromadka municipality, officers from the Police Station in Kruszyn stopped a moped rider for a traffic check; it turned out that the 43-year-old was subject to a court-imposed ban on driving any motor vehicles.
  • In the evening, police officers intervened in connection with an intoxicated tractor driver. The 40-year-old was operating an agricultural machine with 2.8 per mille of alcohol in his system. (Due to his previous traffic offences, the Osiecznica municipality resident is already subject to a court-imposed lifetime ban on driving any motor vehicles.)
  • Police detained a Bolesławiec resident suspected of an economic crime who, using the internet, caused many people to make an unfavourable disposition of their property.

Sunday

  • Police officers from the Independent Police Subunit in Legnica detained a 33-year-old driver in our city who was subject to a decision withdrawing his driving authorisation, as well as his two passengers – each of them possessed marijuana.
  • Police officers from Nowogrodziec detained another driver subject to a court-imposed driving ban and, following a pursuit, detained an intoxicated 38-year-old man. (The man will answer for failing to stop for a traffic check, driving while intoxicated and violating a court-imposed driving ban.)
  • In addition, two more people were detained in connection with thefts; police are clarifying what part they played in the offences.
