This exceptional celebration began with a symbolic march through the city streets, attended by the Bolesławiec County governor Tomasz Gabrysiak together with the director of St. Luke’s Hospital, Kamil Barczyk, as well as residents, volunteers and employees of institutions involved in healthcare.

Bolesławiec County:

The march, which brought together a large number of participants, aimed to demonstrate the unity of the local community in the fight against cancer. Participants carried banners with slogans promoting prevention and courage in facing this serious disease.

After the march, the ceremony moved to the Old Theatre, where lectures and presentations were held on modern treatment methods and psychological support for oncology patients. The speaker was medical doctor Łukasz Kozera, head of the laboratory at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bolesławiec. His presentation concerned modern diagnostic methods that significantly increase the effectiveness of early cancer detection. Dr. Kozera also discussed the role of laboratories in the treatment process and the importance of regular check-ups.

The event was also enriched by performances by children and young people from the Youth Cultural Centre in Bolesławiec, who prepared a variety of artistic presentations. The students presented performances that brought joy and enthusiasm to the audience.

Bolesławiec Cancer Awareness Day proved to be not only an educational event but also a great demonstration of solidarity. Residents gained valuable knowledge about prevention, treatment and support in the fight against cancer.
