This is already the 10th edition of the nationwide Library Night campaign—a great celebration of libraries and reading. Libraries throughout Poland are preparing special events for their readers.
Our Library – Centrum Wiedzy is also joining the campaign.
This year’s slogan is “The Power of Libraries (Library Night – Night of Reading – Power of Reading – Power of Libraries)!”
Our superpower is people—you and us—our readers! It is our clubs, workshops, classes and meetings. Come to the library on Friday evening, see what we do and join in the fun!
The programme includes:
- presentations of the clubs and the activities they will offer—games, puzzles, handicrafts, entertainment, conversations and… attention, a competition between the Discussion Book Clubs: a literary charades tournament;
- the highlight of the evening: a concert by Ranko Ukulele—at 7:00 p.m..
This is truly a unique opportunity to see and hear this exceptional artist!
Ranko is an artist from Poznań whose graceful and unpretentious ukulele songs attract millions of views. Ranko’s appeal lies in her skill with words, her ability to laugh at herself and her humour. Her storytelling strips away embarrassment and allows us to live in harmony with ourselves. Ranko is a great observer who guides us through this world by an unconventional route—a more fairy-tale-like, more bearable and more beautiful one. Ranko is accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Paweł “Paweuke” Wojciechowski, who plays, among other instruments, the bass, mandolin and melodica.
In addition:
- a cinema with popcorn—the family film “My Brother Chases Dinosaurs”;
- the “Share Your Books” campaign—bring your read books, listened-to CDs and vinyl records, and watched films, and exchange them with others;
- surprises!
Admission is free.
