Bolesławiec criminal investigators, working on a residential burglary case, identified the suspect. – The suspect was carrying out renovation work near the victims’ apartment and knew exactly whom he was robbing – explains asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the KPP in Bolesławiec. – The thief took advantage of the fact that the apartment door had not been locked and that there was no one at home.
In mid-September, the 26-year-old stole mainly jewelry from the apartment in question. Criminal investigators located a valuable gold chain and a wedding ring at a pawnshop and recovered the victims’ property.
The 26-year-old resident of Bolesławiec was arrested and charged with residential burglary. In addition, a police officer from the Investigative Division of the Bolesławiec police headquarters presented the suspect with 6 further charges—all concerning shoplifting.
The losses caused by the thief were estimated at over PLN 11,000. Since the man is a repeat offender, he faces up to 7.5 years in prison.
