“By City Bus Through Bolesławiec” is part of the celebrations of European Mobility Week—activities initiated by the European Commission to promote zero-emission means of transport and public transportation.
This year’s invitation to participate met with a very strong response. The competition committee assessed 160 artworks submitted by 14 preschools from Bolesławiec. As a result, 24 works were recognized, and two first-place, two second-place and two third-place awards were granted.
The winning preschoolers received diplomas and gifts from the city’s deputy mayor, Renata Szewczyk, and the president of Miejski Zakład Komunikacji, Andrzej Jagiery. The awards were also presented by members of the committee judging the competition entries: Barbara Macuga, an instructor and art teacher with many years of experience; Katarzyna Kujawińska, director of Miejski Zakład Komunikacji; and Joanna Sawicka, head of Miejskie Centrum Edukacji Ekologicznej.
After the ceremony, the awarded children and their supervisors went to the market square, where a temporary exhibition of the winning works was installed in two electric buses. Preschool groups and adult residents of the city also viewed the exhibition.
The exhibition can be viewed at the headquarters of Miejska Biblioteka Publiczna – Centrum Wiedzy until mid-October.
