The incident took place on September 20. – At approximately 3:40 p.m., the duty officer at the command post of the District Police Headquarters in Środa Śląska received a report that a woman traveling as a passenger in a car had gone into labor on the A4 motorway near Piotrowice, and that heavy traffic on the road had made it significantly more difficult to reach the hospital safely and quickly – reports Sergeant Izabela Jasińska, acting press officer for the Commander of the District Police Headquarters in Środa Śląska. – The duty officer immediately dispatched officers from the Patrol and Intervention Team to the scene, while maintaining constant contact with the person who made the report.
She adds:
Using flashing lights and changing-tone sirens, the Środa Śląska police officers went to the A4 motorway and then escorted the woman in labor to the A. Falkiewicz Specialist Hospital in Wrocław.
Thanks to the officers’ experience and decisive action, the woman reached the hospital safely and quickly.
