Powiat Bolesławiecki:

Due to attempts to bathe, wade without protective clothing, and other contact with the emerging floodwater, we remind you that this water must be treated as contaminated, both biologically and chemically.

What are the recommendations?

  • Contact with floodwater should be avoided, and in the event of becoming wet, the exposed areas of the body should be washed as soon as possible with water that is completely safe from a sanitary perspective, together with detergent. Sanitarily safe water includes, for example, water supplied by the relevant services in tanker trucks, bottled water, or water from verified sources.
  • If skin symptoms or a feeling of illness occur after contact with floodwater (vomiting, headaches, nausea, intestinal complaints), please contact a doctor immediately.
  • All persons working to combat the effects of the flood can be vaccinated against tetanus:
    • as a preventive measure if 10 years have passed since the last vaccination,
    • after exposure in the event of skin damage or injury.
