The bridge was closed on Sunday, September 15, after 5:00 p.m. The reason was the river flooding the crane’s base.

The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways decided to completely close the bridge to traffic, although specialists were convinced that nothing would happen. However, it was difficult to assess the strength of the river current and whether the ground would hold. No one wanted to expose people to a disaster.

Today, the water level had dropped enough to assess the condition of the crane’s base. Everything turned out to be in order. Therefore, traffic was restored immediately.
