– On Monday evening, the duty officer at the Lwówek command received a report of a road incident on a narrow road by Lake Pilchowickie – reports asp. szt. Monika Kaleta of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – The initial report indicated that an unknown perpetrator had allegedly struck a vehicle parked by the road and then fled the scene.

She adds: – However, after a moment, while speaking with the emergency dispatcher, the reporting person heard a call for help. It then turned out that the second vehicle involved in the incident was at the bottom of a 20-metre slope, right above the surface of the lake.

Spokesperson: – The officers’ preliminary findings indicate that a 20-year-old resident of Karkonosze County, driving a Citroën, struck a Fiat vehicle parked by the road and then fell down the slope, coming to a stop on its roof right beside the lake.

The driver had nearly 0.6 per mille of alcohol in her system. She was taken to hospital. Police are establishing the causes and circumstances of the incident.
