As we read on the website of Gmina Bolesławiec:

This week, meetings of residents began concerning elections of village heads and Village Council members.

This means 29 meetings over 5 days. One-third of Municipal Office employees have been involved in ensuring that the elections are conducted efficiently, and are therefore currently working from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. This is a considerable organizational challenge; however, due to the approaching deadline for dividing the village fund, it is not possible to spread them out over a longer period.

The Municipal Office emphasizes: – Last Wednesday, August 28, one of the meetings took place in Trzebień. The elections could not take place due to a mistake by one of the employees, who failed to print the electoral register for one of the districts within the Trzebień electoral precinct.

It adds:

We apologize for the situation. We are particularly sorry because attendance at the meeting was high, and some of you arranged your working hours or other commitments specifically around Wednesday’s meeting.

The situation will be thoroughly investigated, and the new election date has been set for September 6 at 6:00 p.m.. The proper conduct of the elections will be overseen by the Municipal Head – Andrzej Janiec, who will personally serve as chair of the meeting.

Let us recall. We reported on the matter on August 28 in the article Municipal officials’ blunder. They failed to bring the voting cards and lists. The elections did not take place.
