Last Sunday, August 18, an exciting float-fishing competition was held at the picturesque “Zabobrze” reservoir under the patronage of the Bolesławiec County Starost Tomasz Gabrysiak, organized by the Bolesławiec Angling Association Jesiotr together with Bolesławiec County and the city of Bolesławiec. The event was aimed at anglers aged 16 and over, and its purpose was not only to select the best competitors but also to promote fishing as a form of active leisure.

The competition attracted a large number of participants and spectators, who eagerly awaited the results. Every angler had the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and knowledge of catching fish in various conditions. The participants competed in a friendly atmosphere, and their shared passion for fishing created an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences.

After the competition ended, Bolesławiec County Starost Tomasz Gabrysiak presented prizes to the winners. The event was attended by County Council Chairman Maciej Małkowski and County Board Member Krzysztof Basiak.

The ceremony highlighted not only the importance of individual anglers’ achievements but also residents’ attachment to tradition and outdoor sports. The winners received trophies and attractive prizes, which will certainly provide additional motivation to continue pursuing their passion for fishing.

The fishing competition proved to be a great success, attracting both young and experienced fishing enthusiasts and their families. Thanks to initiatives such as this one, organized in cooperation with Bolesławiec County, fishing is becoming not only a sport but also a way to integrate and spend time actively in harmony with nature.
