– Every police intervention carries an element of risk, but this one was particularly exceptional in that respect – reports Senior Constable Aleksandra Pieprzycka of the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.

She adds: – Police officers responded to information about a 40-year-old man who had threatened to commit suicide and barricaded himself inside an apartment. Despite threats directed at them that they would be killed and the sound characteristic of a firearm being loaded, the officers decided to force entry into the apartment. Inside, they found the man holding a firearm, which the resident of Polkowice pointed at them. In response, one of the officers drew an electroshock weapon and fired twice. The stun gun’s electrodes caught on the aggressor’s clothing and closed the electrical circuit.

The result? The man in crisis was subdued and arrested. It turned out that at that moment he was under the influence of amphetamine, methamphetamine and THC.

Spokesperson:

After the situation had been brought under control, the police officers proceeded with further activities. Inside the premises, officers secured equipment for portioning and storing drugs, as well as two air guns and cash. The longer the inspection of the premises continued, the more evidence of criminal activity the officers secured. Ultimately, the officers seized 236 grams of marijuana, 378 grams of ecstasy and 8 grams of amphetamine derivatives.

That was not the end of it. Senior Constable A. Pieprzycka: – The next day, officers from the criminal division of the Polkowice Police entered additional premises at another address, where they found a further 38 grams of marijuana belonging to the arrested 40-year-old. Such an amount would have been enough to put a very large number of retail “deals” of the substances listed above into circulation.

The 40-year-old has already been charged with introducing a significant quantity of drugs into circulation and assaulting police officers. The court remanded the suspect in temporary custody for three months. The resident of Polkowice faces up to 12 years in prison.
