Do you know what the right-angle rule is? This rule applies to drivers using railway crossings. What does it involve?

Under this rule, a driver may enter a railway crossing only when the barriers have been raised to a right angle (that is, fully raised and positioned at an angle of 90 degrees to the road surface) and when the signal lights stop flashing.

You may not enter a crossing while the barriers are lowered or in the process of being raised. You may not enter a crossing when the barriers are coming down. Nor may you go around lowered barriers. This carries a fine of PLN 2,000 and 15 penalty points.

In the case of a repeat offense—another entry onto a crossing in violation of the regulations—the fine will be PLN 4,000.
