The Kingdom Hall is a place where Jehovah’s Witnesses meet weekly, but every resident of Bolesławiec is a welcome guest there.

Walls erected at remarkable speed

Construction of the new Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Piastów Estate began at the end of June this year and will last—if everything goes according to plan—four months. The pace of work is truly impressive, and everything indicates that the investment will be ready as early as October this year. The building’s walls were erected in just four days.

It will be a simple, economical, easy-to-maintain, yet functional and modern building. It will contain a lecture hall with an auditorium seating 160 people, a cloakroom and sanitary facilities with bathrooms. The facility will be fully adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. A 34-space car park and a green area will also be created on the plot.

Safety and atmosphere above all

Several hundred people—volunteers from across the region—signed up to take part in the project. Alongside experienced specialists, including architects, structural engineers, electricians and roofers, young people are also taking part in the construction, both women and men—many of them often learn how to carry out specific tasks from scratch. Interestingly, Jehovah’s Witnesses place great emphasis on safety and eliminating the risk of accidents at construction sites:

“Every day, before work begins, there is a training session,” says Jan Jezopow, a secondary-school graduate from Bolesławiec, one of the volunteers taking part in the construction work. “We learn not only how to do a given job well, but above all how to do it safely. I have learned a lot thanks to this. I am happy that I can be part of this extraordinary construction project. The atmosphere here is fantastic. For me, these are the best holidays I have ever spent!”

The Kingdom Hall on Gałczyńskiego Street is one of more than 660 such buildings in Poland and one of 63,000 worldwide.
