A new store will be built on the site between the primary school and the church, near the building that once housed a Biedronka store. The investment means that some residents in the center of the housing estate will have a grocery store even closer to their homes.

Construction work has already begun. The investment site has been fenced off, and earthworks are under way there as the first stage of construction of the new store.

Several grocery stores belonging to other chains already operate in the housing estate, but Osiedle Piastów is large enough that another store should not suffer from a lack of customers.

Polska Sieć Handlowa Lewiatan is one of Poland’s largest and most popular franchise chains, made up mainly of independent entrepreneurs. In its stores, customers can find a wide range of fresh products and its own product brands. The chain was established in 1994 on the initiative of Polish wholesalers. It currently brings together more than 3,200 outlets across the country.
