– On Saturday, August 3 this year, after 5:30 a.m., the duty officer at the Ząbkowice police station received a report about a train driver operating a train who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol – reports Asp. Paweł Noga from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. – The train stopped at the PKP railway station in Bardo. Police officers were immediately dispatched to the scene.

The officers found the 44-year-old man in the locomotive. The spokesperson said: – During the conversation, the police officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from him. The man was tested for alcohol in his exhaled air. The device indicated that the train driver had nearly 3.5 per mille of alcohol.

The 44-year-old now faces up to three years in prison.
