In recent days, Police officers patrolling the roads of Bolesławiec County arrested four two-wheel enthusiasts who were under the influence of alcohol. – In the Nowogrodziec municipality, police patrols found three cyclists who had been drinking: a 38-year-old and a 19-year-old who were intoxicated, and a 23-year-old who had consumed alcohol – reports asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.

In Bolesławiec, meanwhile, traffic police stopped an intoxicated 50-year-old. The spokeswoman said: – The man, despite having four court-imposed driving bans, was riding a moped. The resident of Bolesławiec municipality was travelling to the town to do some shopping; when he was stopped, he had 1.7 per mille of alcohol in his system.

Meanwhile, officers from Legnica, while on Saturday duty in Bolesławiec, stopped a passenger-car driver who committed an offence by getting behind the wheel despite having a court-imposed driving ban. Another driver with a court-imposed ban was stopped in the Gromadka municipality. The 66-year-old was stopped on Sunday morning while riding a moped.

We remind you that riding a bicycle after drinking alcohol is an offence punishable by a fine of PLN 1,000 when a person has consumed alcohol, or PLN 2,500 when a cyclist is intoxicated. Driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated is punishable by up to 3 years in prison. Breaking a court-imposed driving ban is punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
