As reported to the page The Bad Bunzlauer Mr. Paweł:
When you buy vegetables at the market and a little jumping “pea” like this leaps out of the dill. A harlequin jumping spider.
TBB on the incident
Can its bite kill a person?
The harlequin jumping spider is a species of spider from the jumping spider family, known for its distinctive coloration and ability to perform long jumps. Although jumping spiders possess venom, it is not harmful to humans.
These are relatively small spiders, with adult females reaching sizes of less than one centimeter, while males are even smaller.
Jumping spiders are predators that hunt insects such as moths, flies, small beetles and other invertebrates, and may sometimes also hunt other spiders.
In Poland, the harlequin jumping spider is commonly found, especially around human habitations, where it can be spotted on building walls or fences. These spiders play a beneficial role in the ecosystem by helping to control insect populations.
