Bolesławiec City Hall: – These inspections are carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Act on Maintaining Cleanliness and Order in Municipalities and the agreement concluded with the company.

What will be inspected?

Officials: – Employees of the waste collection company will check whether containers for mixed waste contain waste subject to separate collection, i.e. paper, plastic, glass, metal, expired medicines, chemicals, used batteries, used consumer electronics and household appliances, construction waste, furniture and other bulky waste, used tires, and biodegradable waste. Containers and bags intended for separate collection will also be checked to determine whether they contain waste in accordance with their intended purpose.

Under the agreement, employees of the waste collection company are required to prepare photographic documentation for every inspection, regardless of whether the inspection result is positive or negative. The photographic documentation must include a photo identifying the property and a photo of the containers/bags.

City Hall:

Proper waste sorting helps reduce the amount of mixed waste, which translates into lower costs. The greater the amount of mixed waste collected from residents, the higher the costs of operating the waste management system in the city and, consequently, the higher the waste fees charged to households. In addition, municipalities are required to achieve recycling rates for the mass of municipal waste, and these required levels increase from year to year. Municipalities that fail to achieve the required levels will be subject to high financial penalties, which will directly increase the fees charged to residents.

A greater amount of mixed waste collected from residents may cause waste fees to increase.

We remind you that separate collection of municipal waste applies to all property owners and is mandatory.

And sums up:

If it is found that recyclable waste is present in a container/bag for mixed waste, the company will collect it as mixed municipal waste and provide this information to employees of Bolesławiec City Hall. This will result in administrative proceedings being initiated in order to impose an increased fee for improper waste sorting. The increased fee is PLN 52.00 per person/month.
