On Sunday, 12 December, a new train timetable will come into effect. A direct rail connection to Berlin, a new interREGIO train to Przemyśl, and the discontinuation of trains to Jelenia Góra via Lwówek Śląski – these are the most important changes in the PKP timetable.
To Przemyśl on the “Łużyce”
Przewozy Regionalne is launching a new interREGIO “Łużyce” train on the Bolesławiec–Przemyśl route. The train to Przemyśl will depart from Bolesławiec at 7:27 and travel via Wrocław, Opole, Katowice, Kraków and Rzeszów. Arrival in Przemyśl is scheduled for 17:39. On the return journey, IR “Łużyce” will run on the Kraków Główny (15:35)–Bolesławiec (21:57) route. In Bolesławiec, the train will be coordinated with REGIO services to/from Węgliniec.
To Berlin and Kraków on the “Wawel”
From Sunday, Bolesławiec will gain a direct connection to Berlin and Hamburg. PKP Intercity’s “Wawel” EuroCity train on the Kraków–Hamburg route will travel via Żary, Forst, Cottbus and Berlin (departing Bolesławiec at 13:07). On the return journey, EC “Wawel” will travel via Wrocław, Opole and Katowice (departing Bolesławiec at 14:00). The EC train requires full seat reservations – a seat reservation must be purchased in addition to the ticket.
No changes to Zgorzelec
The number of direct connections to Zgorzelec will not change. As before, there will be three pairs of REGIOekspres trains on the Wrocław Główny–Dresden Hbf–Wrocław Główny route, as well as one pair on the Legnica–Zgorzelec–Legnica route, operated by Koleje Dolnośląskie. Zgorzelec will also be accessible with a convenient transfer in Węgliniec.
To Jelenia Góra only via Lubań
Passenger train services on the Zebrzydowa–Lwówek Śląski section will be suspended. The Marshal’s Office, which organizes regional rail transport, did not order services on this line. From Sunday, trains in the Bóbr Valley will run only on the Jelenia Góra–Lwówek Śląski section.
REGIO trains to/from Wrocław and Węgliniec will run with no major changes. The new feature will be the last train from Wrocław (21:43) to Bolesławiec (23:30).
