Several minutes before 9:00 p.m. on May 23, the duty officer at the District Command Post of the State Fire Service in Lwówek Śląski received a report of an ambulance fire on provincial road 297 in Golejów. According to lwowecki.info, firefighters from the State Fire Service Rescue and Firefighting Unit in Lwówek Śląski, the Lubomierz Volunteer Fire Service unit in the National Rescue and Firefighting System, and the Golejów Volunteer Fire Service were immediately dispatched to the scene.

The fire broke out in the vehicle’s engine compartment. Medical rescuers from the Emergency Medical Service in Jelenia Góra immediately pulled the ambulance over onto the shoulder, fought the fire using extinguishers, and notified the fire service. The fire was brought under control before the first fire service unit arrived. Firefighters secured the scene and made sure that the high temperature would not cause the fire to reignite. A second Medical Rescue Team was dispatched to the scene and took over care of the patient.

No one was injured in the incident. Police officers will investigate its causes and circumstances.
