The playground on Jana Pawła II Street was officially opened. The investment cost over PLN 820,000 from taxpayers’ money. ZŁOTY, not dollars, euros or rupees. It is therefore a shame that Polish elements are missing. At the Bank, visitors can learn the names and symbols of foreign currencies, but there is no place for the Polish złoty.
Some elements were already damaged before the opening. The tube bells had fallen out of their casing and did not play as they should. The pink stones from the play pit had been scattered all over the playground. On the night from Saturday to Sunday, “very mature youth” were having fun on the playground, although the site is reportedly under the observation of the Municipal Guard.
We will see how things develop in the future.
The playground contains various zones, including a sports zone with a rope playground, an inclusive trampoline and a mini pitch for team games; an educational zone with educational boards and a sensory path; a music zone with outdoor musical instruments; and a toddler zone with sandpits, inclusive swings and a space for children’s strollers. Additionally, the play zone features inclusive play structures, a carousel, balance swings for people with disabilities, a surfer balance beam, hopscotch and the “Imitate Me” game.
