In the lane heading toward the border, a 48-year-old driver crashed into the rear of a vehicle, which was travelling very slowly due to a traffic jam. Despite the dry road surface and sunny weather, remember to adjust your speed to your abilities and maintain a safe distance from the vehicle travelling ahead.
Driver, the distance between vehicles, measured in metres, should be at least half the speed expressed in km/h:
- If you are driving at 100 km/h, keep at least 50 metres from the vehicle ahead.
- If you are driving at 140 km/h, the minimum distance is 70 metres.
