On 19 May 2024, at around 8:00 a.m., officers in Wojcieszyce, on National Road 3, noticed a BMW travelling at high speed. The measuring device showed that, in a built-up area where the speed limit was 50 kilometres per hour, the driver was travelling at 106, exceeding the permitted speed by 56 kilometres per hour. The officers stopped the driver for a roadside inspection.

The vehicle was being driven by a 43-year-old resident of Bolesławiec. He was stopped at a location identified by residents of Karkonosze County on the National Safety Hazard Map. He is another driver who has lost his driving licence on this section of road in recent days.

It turned out that the man had committed the offence under so-called “recidivism” conditions. Under the applicable regulations, the officers confiscated his driving licence for three months, fined him PLN 3,000 and assigned him 13 penalty points.
