The incident took place during the night of 18–19 May. Firefighters from Nowogrodziec:

(...) at 3:00 a.m., we were dispatched to a suspected carbon monoxide poisoning in a multi-family residential building in Nowogrodziec, at 1 Maja Street.

The firefighters added:

At the scene, two injured people were found suffering from dizziness and breathing problems. The rooms were ventilated and qualified first aid was provided.

And they summed up: – Our detectors did not detect the presence of CARBON MONOXIDE. After the emergency medical team arrived at the scene, the people were examined and taken to hospital.

In addition to the uniformed officers from Nowogrodziec, firefighters from Bolesławiec and an emergency medical team also took part in the operation.
